Medium North Bay Loop

191 Miles – 5 hours of driving and see some of the more pristine areas along the coast North of the bay.   See the route on Google Maps.

Bolinas Beach – You may need your GPS to find the road as the residents tend to take the signs down as they do not like to share their beautiful community with tourists.

Point Reyes National Seashore  –  Great for hiking.

Bodega Bay –  A fishing village on the edge of the Pacific.  Where Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds took place. The schoolhouse is now a private residence.

Armstrong Woods – A grove of giant coastal redwoods.  Many people feel that Armstrong Woods is a more natural experience than Muir Woods which is too close to San Francisco.  You can park  in the lot just outside the gate and walk into the park.

Healdsburg Town Square – A quaint town square.  You can grab a deli sandwich at the Oakville Grocery on the square.

Note: The Golden Gate Bridge is electronic toll only.  If you do not have a FastTrak responder, you can pay online before crossing or within 48 hours after you cross the bridge online at the FasTrak® website.  Note: If you are in a rental car and opt to be billed, your rent car agency will charge an additional “convenience fee” to process the payment.  Depending on the length of your rental, this fee can far exceed the cost of crossing the bridge.
